Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description: Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including managing financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and driven to contribute to the company’s financial integrity.

Essential Duties: Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger and Financial Reporting
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately and on time.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card statements.
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
- Accounts Receivable
- Process customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Process daily cash deposits and report and address discrepancies.
- Process monthly customer statements and access finance charges accordingly. Perform collections as necessary and maintain AR aging reports.
- Payroll and Benefits Accounting
- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Tax and Regulatory Compliance
- Assist with preparation and filing of sales tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Support external auditors during audit.
- Process Improvement and Ad Hoc Projects
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting workflows.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decisions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller or executive team.
Handle communications with customers and vendors via phone, email and in person.

Qualifications: Requirements:
• Two plus years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• High school diploma/GED required
• Some accounting education preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Advanced written and oral communication skills.
• Strong aptitude for working with numbers and detecting errors.
• Good organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
